Opened in September 2014, Greenacre School secured additional places for children who met the criteria of admission to Greenacre, in satellite bases. Originally the satellite pupils were based in three learning spaces, Key Stage One and Two pupils at Kexborough Primary School and Key Stage Three students at Darton College. In September 2015 an additional satellite was opened at Hoyland Springwood Primary School for Key Stage Two pupils.
The Satellites provide a unique learning opportunity for Greenacre pupils to integrate into mainstream 'host’ schools and access subjects such as Art, Music, PE, Drama and MFL alongside their mainstream peers. Satellite pupils are taught by Greenacre staff and are supported to access opportunities to share lessons, break times and lunch times in mainstream school as well as having small group or individual interventions when needed.
Lessons are planned in line with the current National Curriculum but is heavily differentiated and personalised to ensure that all children can make progress from their relevant starting points.

We are seeking to ensure funding and additional space for this provision to continue into the future. The children and their families have shared their positive feedback with Greenacre:
"Kai has had a lovely weekend but was very happy to put his school uniform on this morning".
"Ben had a really good night’s sleep and cannot wait to get to school today. He has enjoyed telling me what he has been learning about.
… just wanted to say how nice it is to see Kaiden come home and not get stressed like he used to. The last two days have been great when he arrives home. I am happy to see him smile".
"It's a very exciting time and we are really looking forward to working with you and the rest of the staff. We are confident that Ellie will go from strength to strength at Kexborough".
"I think what is exciting for us as a family is the things he is learning with you guys (Greenacre Team). I am so impressed and can see why OFSTED gives you the outstanding mark. You guys put everything in to these special children and it’s wonderful".
